Sun and Moon

Today we had lunch out. We spotted the place yesterday while walking and as it turned out it's both a bakery and a restaurant - a vegetarian/vegan restaurant called "Sun and Moon".

Ah where should I start?! It's beautiful! I am neither a vegan nor vegetarian, however, I gave it a shot without hesitating. A red lentil soup, home-made bread with humus and curry rice with lentil warmed our hearts and filled our tummies! Meanwhile, we enjoyed the cosy atmosphere and the fragrance of freshly baked bread, prepared literally in front of your eyes. In "Sun and Moon" you will find a variety of always warm bread, cookies made by original recipes, and delicious, healthy food. Whether or not you are vegetarian, do try it! No one makes bread like these guys and the restaurant and bakery are made with so much love and passion that you will be enchanted!

Only one advice if you decide to go for lunch or dinner, or you're with a group. The restaurant doesn't have many tables, which makes it even more pleasant and cute, so make sure you make a reservation!

"Sun and Moon" bakery we visited is located on the corner of William Gladstone str. and Kniaz Boris str. However they have a bakery on 39, 6th September str., a shop (for flours, rice and other products) and even a cooking workshop. Check out their webpage here or follow them on facebook.

Stay healthy, and don't forget to enjoy the little pleasures of life :)

Whether you are just visiting Sofia or you are coming to stay for a while, a lot of people will tell you that its by far not the greatest place to walk. They will give you lots of reasons. And I wouldn't say they are completely wrong about that. As a friend of mine says: "In Sofia there are only two seasons - a muddy and a dusty one".

The trick, however, to walking in this city despite its shortcomings is simple. Stay away from the bigger main streets! If you have the chance, don't be afraid to get lost in the small streets, especially in the centre, it will be worth it. They are much more quiet, much less crowded and you will certainly discover pretty old houses and cute cosy places to have a snack, coffee, or just a rest.

Today was a very good day for urban exploring. On one single street we discovered 3 sweet looking places that I cannot wait to tell you more about. One of them was a vegan restaurant and a bakery, the other - a lovely littl roceries shop, and an amazing shop for wooden children´s toys
(I barely got out of this one!) :).

Expect more info on these 3 very soon.

Davi's cafe

Davi

I've decided the first post to be about one of my most recent discoveries, but one of my most favourite as well. I encountered it accidentally a couple of weeks ago on my way back from work and I fell in love from first sight. It's called "Davi" and it has a breathtaking charm. Located on Prof. Asen Zlatarov street, it´s quiet and yet central. "Davi" is beautifully and tastefully designed and decorated. The soft colours, the flowers and the slightly rustic interior will make you feel at home and at the same time take you to the Mediterranean. It is a place for dreamers, a place to escape for a while from Sofia's busy streets. I can see myself completely relaxed writing or sketching over a delicious Italian coffee and a homemade cake. And don't let me forget :) I strongly recommend you to try the homemade lemonade in "Davi".

I hope very soon I will be able to post also a few pictures of the warm and cosy interior. Until then all I can say is - try it and you'll love it!
